Hazelburn is one of the three styles of whisky produced at the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. It is named after the old Hazelburn distillery, which, like a great many Scottish distilleries, disappeared from the whisky map as a consequence of Americas great experiment of prohibition.
Part of a limited outturn of 5,100 bottles. This eight year-old is much sought. Hazelburn is distilled at the Springbank distillery and named for a nearby silent distillery. It is unpeated and triple distilled.
The nose is sweet and fresh. There are notes of orchard fruits and cut hay, a little chocolate and something floral. The palate is sweet and crisp with notes of fresh barley and a floral character. Slightly nutty. The finish is gentle and quite long with a fresh character.
