South Africa is producing world-class Chenin and the 95-point Chama Chenin Blanc 2023 is right up there with the best of them. Having access to some of the greatest old-vine blocks in the country, its brilliantly rendered, with personality in spades.
From two vineyards in the Paardeberg, planted in 1986 and 1996, the wine boasts white florals, peach skin and concentrated lime with a chalky texture and savoury nuances. If you love verve, complexity, quiet fruit expression and a lingering finish, this is for you. Only 800 bottles were produced.
