Description
This is a description of the Holbein watercolours set of 18 tubes. The tubes come with a variety of colors, including burnt sienna, burnt umber, chinese white, cobalt blue, compose blue, crimson lake, ivory black, jaun brilliant no. 2, permanent green no. 1, permanent green no. 2, permanent yellow lemon, permanent yellow deep, prussian blue, rose madder, vermilion (tint), viridian (tint), and yellow ochre. The tubes are also made without ox-gall or other dispersing agents, which allows for slower movement of the paint and greater control over the brush.
Holbein watercolours produce brilliant transparent washes as well as powerful clean darks when used in more concentrated applications. A European style transparent watercolour, Holbein watercolour also preserves the brush handling qualities inherent in traditional Japanese watercolour techniques. Without ox-gall or other dispersing agents, Holbein watercolour moves slowly permitting greater colour density and brush control.
