Description
This is a paint made of Raw Sienna pigment. It is a very fast drying paint and is semi-opaque. It has excellent lightfastness and average oil content. It is used as a ground tone and for underpainting.

Used as a ground tone and for underpainting since the 17th century, this is one of the indispensable Earth Iron Oxides. As the name suggests, the best grades come from central Italy.
