Description
The micrometer has a digital readout and accuracy of 0.001mm to 0.01mm. It is used to measure smaller ranges of lengths. The workpiece must be clean and have no burrs on the edges, and the temperature of the workpiece is required to be around 20°C to have consistent measuring results. Precision measuring tools should never be put near a magnetic area to avoid the micrometer being magnetized.
Micrometer
Range: 25-50mm
Readout: Digital and analog
Accuracy: 0.001mm - digital
              0.01mm - analog
Application:
A micrometer generally provides greater precision than a vernier caliper, but can measure a smaller range of lengths.
Before using a micrometer:
- Make sure the workpiece being measured is clean and has no burrs on the edges.
- The temperature of the workpiece is required to be around 20°C to have consistent measuring results.
- Precision measuring tools should never be put near a magnetic area to avoid the micrometer being magnetized.
