Description
A spade drill bit is a type of drill bit used for drilling into hardwood, softwood, chipboard, MDF, plywood, and other similar materials. The bit has a Ø17.0mm shank and a working length of 150mm. The bit is made from high carbon steel and is also known as a "butterfly" bit because of its shape. The standard spade bit is less expensive and does not have spurs on it, while the Pro series spade bit is equipped with spurs that make it more effective and faster than a standard spade bit.

Application:
A spade drill bit is used for rough boring in wood. Spade drill bits can be used to drill in:

Standard vs. Pro series:

TIP: To avoid splintering, drill the workpiece from both ends.
