Description
This is a description of a spade bit, a type of drill bit used for drilling in wood. The bit is 20mm in diameter and 400mm long, with a 6.35mm hex shank for quick change. The bit is made from high carbon steel and is also known as a butterfly bit. The standard spade bit shown on the left is less expensive and has fewer spurs, while the Pro series spade bit shown on the right has more spurs and is designed for faster drilling.

Application:

Standard vs. Pro series:

TIP: To avoid splintering, drill the workpiece from both ends.
