Description
The pilot drill bit for hole saws is a replacement for the original pilot drill bit. The drill bit is made of high-speed steel and is used to make a pilot hole in the material being cut. The pilot drill bit is replaced by using an Allen key or in some cases a slot-head screwdriver to undo the grub screw securing the pilot drill bit in the mandrel. The pilot drill bit is then replaced by aligning the flat side on the shank with the grub screw. The grub screw is then tightened. In some cases it would be necessary to remove the hole saw from the mandrel to replace the pilot drill bit.
