Description
Battlefield 3 is a first-person shooter video game developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It is the sequel to the 2006 video game Battlefield 2 and the ninth installment in the Battlefield series. The game was announced at the EA press conference at E3 2009, and was released in October 2009. Battlefield 3 is powered by the Frostbite 2 game engine, which is the successor to the Frostbite game engine used in Battlefield 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The game features enhanced visual quality, a grand sense of scale, massive destruction, dynamic weather, and a new multiplayer mode, Conquest, which is a conquest-based mode similar to the popular Battlefield 1942 mode.
