For a short period it seems that there is peace in the Luthuli family. However, Velaphi seeks revenge on Watson and his associates, including Mfaniseni. Velaphi tries to impress Nobuhle and prove to her that he is the only innocent person among all the rogues surrounding them.

Mfaniseni continues to upset his parents by battling to control his wives and by not resolving his affair with Nobuhle.

Learning about Nobuhles pregnancy, Mfaniseni leaves his three wives in Johannesburg and rushes back to Durban to be with Nobuhle. He discovers that Velaphi has kidnapped Nobuhle. Nobuhle turns down Velaphis efforts to court her because she is in love with Mfaniseni. Velaphi plans revenge.
